The Chanel 2017 Cruise collection was inspired and shown in Cuba this past May. The collection was full of 1950’s looks with a modern and very
Chanel twist to them. Some of my favorite pieces from that collection are the ivory and black striped trousers that opened the show and this
black canvas jacket that was shown as a mens item on the runway. This look pays tribute to classic Chanel in many ways… the menswear look
that Gabrielle herself liked to wear, as well as the black and white color palette… a Chanel staple.

My initial thoughts when I saw these pieces come down the runway in May, were how ladylike and yet powerful they were at the same time.
Having just come back from New York Fashion Week, where lady-boss power dressing was in full force, it just confirm, once again, that
sometime we can look to the past in order to see the future!
