Cannes Film Festival 2018

Cannes Film Festival 2018

I thought this travel would be just like any other. Get to the airport, check in bags, grab a coffee, board the plane and fly for 12 hours…. Boy was I wrong! This trip starts off with a fashion adventure. On my way to the airport, I stop by the Alexander McQueen boutique for a quick pickup of some last minute items. But once I see there is a trunk show of their exquisite gowns, a quick pick up turns into a 2 hour styling session. The Eagle and Tree of Life gown catches my eye which ends up being the amazing dress that I plan to wear on the Cannes red carpet.

Once I realize how much time has passed, I race to the airport in hopes that I will still make my flight. I keep nervously reminding myself how amazing the dress is and it is worth it. Grabbing my bags and sprinting to the counter pleading that I are only 7 minutes after the hour cut off time… I am denied and have to catch the next flight…which makes me 5 hours early 😉

After all that excitement, I make it to Cannes late at night to a beautiful setting.

The entrance to my hotel, Hotel Barriere Le Majestic, felt like a scene from a movie and full of glam! Overlooking the Cannes Film Festival made this hotel even more spectacular.

The next day we are taken to lunch on a Riva Boat to Lunch at La Guérite, located on Island Ste Marguerite.

Food is delicious, view is amazing and company is delightful! What a great way to spend our first Alexander McQueen experience!

We board our boats once again and take a scenic cruise around the island.

As the red carpet time approaches, Alexander McQueen set up hair and make up by YSL in the Kering Suite where I decide to go with a golden goddess look with a pop of color on my lips.

After our glam session we meet on the terrace of the hotel to share a toast and take in the beautiful view of the French Riviera.

The Red Carpet

We are then taken by car to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet… in line behind Alessandra Ambrosio (Oh My God)… to walk an unforgettable walk.

Following the red carpet we are whisked away to the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc for a an exquisite dinner with the most incredible sunset view.

The final day for the Cannes Film Festival was a personal highlight of this trip. Not only was I able to walk the red carpet again but I had the pleasure of attending the closing ceremonies as well as meet Cate Blanchett at the Cannes Film Festival Finale Dinner.

Thank you to Alexander McQueen for allowing me to cross off the Cannes Film Festival from my bucket list. It truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will treasure forever.
